Welcome!
ReFace MOOC aims to contribute to the adaptability and resilience of regions in order to enable them to thrive despite adversity and crises by enhancing the knowledge and skills of key stakeholders. Indeed, though some these disasters are likely unavoidable, we can limit the potential threat and impact of some other ones, if we are sufficiently prepared with appropriate knowledge and skills to address them. Building resilient regions is a complex task, requiring the cooperation of entire communities and regions, effective communication, risk, change and project management.
ReFace MOOC will raise awareness on how regional actions shape the response to major economic, social and environmental challenges, and on suggested tools, methods and elements for effective policy making and adoption of integrated regional/local policies.
The course will guide you in the analysis of resilience, its various levels and types, with specific focus on regional resilience and its life cycles. It will examine the concepts of risks and hazards, as well as the regional resilience components and their interconnections. You will also get an insight into regional resilience planning and learn about the necessity to engage and cooperate with the community and regional key players for appropriate strategies, plans and implementation of resilience building, as well as to measure the impact of the planned measures and funding.
